No More Fat Boy!
Two years ago I was more than 50 lbs.
overweight, highly stressed, suffering from various skin problems,
high cholesterol and signs of adult onset diabetes.
I had
eczema-like outbreaks in both
underarms that looked like large areas of burnt skin; a dull, pasty
facial complexion and I snored loud enough to wake the neighbors.
I felt like I was going to die during a hike with friends in Hawaii.
I was unhealthy, unhappy and carried around a negative attitude so
big that even Santa’s Xmas bag was small in comparison! There I was
on my way to an early grave at the age of 53.
Sure, I thought about exercising. Heck I
read every book about exercise, health and nutrition that my budget
would allow! Unfortunately, the only action I took was to curl up in
my recliner and watch a little more TV while munching down sweet
desserts or salty snacks in between double-double burgers and pizza
from the local fast food chains.
What scared me most was my struggling to get in and out of my own
car! That was the moment that really kicked me in the butt.
I had to make a final decision whether to continuously live on
happily or die.

As of today I have lost 53 lbs. and kept it off for more than a
year. I have loads of energy and seldom ever get sick. My
cholesterol is way down. There are no more signs of blood sugar
problems.
The skin problem I had under my arms has been totally clear for
sometime. My snoring has abated considerably, much to the relief of
my neighbors. I feel like 35 again!
What turned it all around? Simple: 2 things.
- A desire to be healthy, happy and fit
in with my friends and our activities together and
- ACTION! Simple actions taken
consistently with my thoughts focused continually on my goals as
though they were already achieved.
In a nutshell, here are the simple actions I
took to turn my health around.
- Get plenty of
sleep each night.
- Get out and
exercise for 20 minutes
each day (you don’t need to set any land speed records, just get
out there and get started, you will improve regularly).
- Take a couple of 5 minute breaks each
day to relax. Deep breathing is excellent (no, not
while inhaling the smoke from a cigarette!).
-
Eat Sensibly.

- Take high quality nutritional
supplements (it pays to use the best and not skimp in this
important area).
- Have a small amount of your favorite
sinful food every day! Yes, you heard me right. Just do it and
enjoy! It is better to allow yourself this simple pleasure as it
will allow you to stay with the plan. Don’t agonize over it,
just go for it and don’t overdo it.
